WHEREAS loyal birders in Florida have detected numerous arriving neotropical migrants, including warblers, in the last 24 hours; and
PURSUANT TO the powers invested in BINAC by Roger Tory Peterson; we do
HEREBY DECLARE that spring migration has
BEGUN
as of the seventh day of the third month of the second year of the Great Ivory-billed Woodpecker.

Dear Clare;
Unfortunately, since they will not make their stop here in Chicago until late April or early May, I suspect it will be some time before you see any of our colorful little feathered friends.
However, as a consolation prize, we have decided to return all of your Snowy Owls to you, beginning this week. You should receive them in 10-12 days, depending on the weather. Please remember to return them to us next year.
Woah there - could you not hold on to the Snowys until I get there next week? One would do...

Several times, I have flushed ivorybills from the edge of the water. Perhaps they are feeding on crayfish, and the banks of the ditch are as favorable for this type of foraging as the banks of the Pearl and its bayous. I visit that ditch a few times a week hoping the ivorybills will return.
Ahhh what was that again? Feeding on Crayfish? After reading this entry in Mike Collins website I decided to vote "Ivory-billed Woodpecker" on your poll. Now I am really convince he is seeing these birds regularly.
