IBWO Poll

This is not our idea, but it would be interesting to see the results of this poll on the Ivory-billed woodpecker:

I'm not sure what the point of the Bigfoot and Loch Ness Monster questions are. Aside from Nelson and his admirers, I don't think anyone would put the question of whether a species that definitely once existed is still alive together with the pursuit of mythical beasts.

john... The point of using Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster is to gauge the person's required level of evidence for belief. There are supposedly photos and loads of sight records for both, just like Ivory-billeds.

BTW, the Loch Ness Monster is generally described as a plesiosaur, so it definitely once existed. The time period since the last definitive evidence is significantly longer, of course. This would be similar to the coelacanth.
