Apparently the Texas records committee has now added Barred Antshrike to the official state list, based on a bird that was recorded -- but not seen -- in a Harlingen backyard (Martin Hagne's backyard, actually) last September.
Does anyone know anything more about this record?

Interesting video
This blog is getting stranger and stranger.
Looks like Mescalito is working overtime. That might explain the Antshrike as well.
BINAC, I used to have the 45 rpm of that song, from when I lived in Italy in the 70s. Unfortunately I lost it in the last move, so I am delighted to have found this video on the web. I figured, since you had random ZZ Top videos linked on your front page, you might enjoy the Italian video. And I trust I didn't mangle the Italian language too too much in my earlier posts. Cheers!
Hey, go ahead and post whatever you want.
One of the complaints we get is that the site is not updated often enough, so we're trying to remedy that situation, at least on a short-term basis. Having an active comments section helps, too, as long as we don't veer too far off course.
Course? We don't need no stinkin' course!
Is there some ref online indicating that the Antshrike record was accepted by the TRBA?
Bill,
Ecco, qui. O, Aquí está.
